Have you considered using the box above this message entitled "search this forum"? Using searchwords such as "cave gorge"

My favorite European dream, is to float down the Dordogne River there by Castlenaud. (We took a boat trip, but next time I will canoe! )It is similar to our Buffalo River here in Arkansas, except that on every hillside is a castle. There are rental canoes, and we actually saw a fellow just floating on a blow-up raft lying on his stomach. Fabulous, fabulous fun!

try to visit Lascaux which is a complex of caves in southwestern France famous for its cave paintings. located near the village of Montignac in the Dordogne. some of the most well-known art, dating back to somewhere between 15,000 and 13,000 BC.

Lascaux - do you visit the cave with original cave paintings or a copy i understand as to protect the real old paintings from the effect of tourists' breathes?

doesn't take off the worthwhileness and i may be wrong.

Hi PQ,

Lascaux is closed to the public.

We can only visit Lascaux II, which is an almost perfect reproduction.
