Dordogne

Planning on visiting the area for several days in May and staying in Domme or surrounding area. Anyone have any hotel suggestions? Thought about Hotel Esplanade, but understand that drive up to it, in and out for several days. can be tedious. Also, thinking about the nearby Hotel La Belle Etoile in nearby Roque Gageac. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you

If you do a search for posts by OREILLY, you'll find that she started a thread asking thre same question just a recently, even asking about the same hotels, and got some good advice. She also asked the question on the Delphi Francophile forum. She then posted from the hotel that she ended up choosing. You will probably find her posts and the responses helpful.

The drive up to the Esplanade is no more arduous than the drive up to my house in France. It's NOTHING like the drive up to Cordes-sur-Ciel, for example.
It's already May - do you have reservations?
The Belle Etoile in La Roque-Gageac is also a great choice. Both have great restaurants.

larry, I'd choose L'Esplanade over belle Etoile if only for the wonderful view!

I am back from 4 wonderful days and highly recommend Comme and L'Esplanade. As St. Cirq says, the drive is not problem at all .... compared to Cordes sur Ciel

I'll be uploading my photos at the end of the week, so you can see for yourself.

regards ..>Ger
