Doolin or not ??

In April we'll be 10 days in Ireland doing a self drive tour. We had thought about arriving in Doolin from Killarney mid afternoon and spending the night. The next day on to Clifden. I have just read on this board that Doolin is really only a few pubs and not much more. Is Doolin worth the visit ??

Doolin is a very small place but I enjoyed the boat trip from the pier along the base of the Cliffs of Moher. There are sailings too to the Aran Islands.

Since you'll have a car, I recommend that you stay in Ballyvaughan. Check out Rusheen Lodge (www.rusheenlodge.com).

We went to Doolin for the traditional Irish Music...and found it in local pub.....and stayed in a charming little B&B very close to the village.
Rent movie Secret of Roan Inish...and while you are at it, also rent Into The West...enjoy.
