Dooley Car Rental - Credit Card Hold

We will be renting a car from Dan Dooley in September. Have paid for the Super CDW. Can anyone advise on the price of the hold put on our credit card at the time of pick up? (Aside from the required tank of fuel.)

I'd heard 1500 previously and was not sure if that was standard for all rentals or if it corresponded with the 1500 deductible that is applicable with standard CDW. The deductible with the Super CDW drops to 100 euros. Would this be the hold placed on the card then? Found no information regarding holds on the Dooley site...

Thanks!

Um - why not just contact them and ask. (And yes, usually it is the same as the deductible - although it may be higher if there are things like tires and windows that are not covered).

I did try to contact them but they were closed at the time and since I'm in the middle of planning today - not Monday during their business hours - I thought the friendly folks at fodor's might know.

personally tonnes better deals with carrentals.com no holds

usually Avis for me but no clue about Dooley

some companies run scams around this check car carefully

for damage B4 departure also be sure you have enough on CC

and they tear up copies... check statement carefully

to be sure it comes off.

Just back from renting from Dooley. Got the CDW included but not Super CDW (got that from insurance4carhire) and they put $1000 hold on the credit card. The amount may have to do with the value of the car you are renting. The only thing I had to pay at the counter was a full tank of petrol and was advised to bring it back completely empty or if completely full I would get a refund. The refund hit my credit card the day I turned it in full (lost 47¢ on the transaction). Citibank even refunded the Foreign Transaction Fee on the refund.

The gent at the counter even pointed out that with my World MasterCard I could have skipped the CDW.
