Don't take nail clippers
In an effort to make us all comfortable, they are confiscating your nail clippers (never mind the guy who smuggled a handgun by hidden in his belt). If we want security we have GOT to get serious. THis means every person who may look/act/appear/suspcicious should be subject to close scrutiny. Also, folks from hostile countries should expect a closer look. SEat assignments should go out last minute to illiminate the possibility that land crew has planted weapons 'under the seat', people with valid visas should have a microchip embedded in them that could be checked against an official list, etc., I can think of many real ways to ensure security, but it will mean added cost, and trouble. ARE WE WILLING? I am!!

Actually, Aaron, after two short weeks of mourning, everyone is now complacent and unwilling to pay for security or deal with security. Sad but true.

Then I suppose it will take a few more incidents (hopefully not as costly as the last one) to convince Americans that we must pay for safety. I, for one, will not board a plane (and I have travelled extensively in the past) before I have some assurance that I can avoid the terror of the terrorist.

someone i know accidentally had a sissor packed in his briefcase and forgot about it. security never even saw it and he brought onboard. he didn't realize he had it til he got home!
