I would suggest looking at recommended restaurants, particulary budget restaurants, on the New York Times travel pages online. Then avoid these. Being mentioned in the Times often leads to small places being overwhelmed, then becoming cynical and lowering the quality of food and service. Maybe three years later they will be good, maybe not.
