DON THE NOB IS BACK FROM 2 WEEKS IN THE CRIMEA/UKRAINE, ANY QUESTIONS?

Just poking a little fun at Bob the NAV -- and yes, I know what a nob is.

Spent 5 days on the beach in Yalta, with many excursions to places such as palaces, churches, and dead cities. Experienced +35C temperatures and restaurants up the kazoo, but the water was nice (Black Sea, swimming). Lots of taxi rides, and some unbearable (+24 hours) train rides.

I forgot the packets of Handi-wipes (TM), NEVER forget the Handi-wipes.

No they do not have haggis, tubular (TM) or otherwise. However they do have McDonald's in Kyiv and Odessa, but no free refills on soda.

It is good to be back in civilization.
Hopefully not as long as it took many countries to rebel against the monarchy that raped, tortured, starved and oppressed them.

Ahhhh politics, I had forgotten about that.

Gorbachev (sp?) was at his retreat while we were in Yalta (got some distant photos), but he went home. Why? It was too hot! No air-conditioning. So talk to me about civilization.
