Dollars exchange
 

We are leaving for the river cruise Basel-Amsterdam on May 10, 2008.
We are flying into Zurich and then transferring by train to Basel.
Do we need to exchange dollars into the local currency before leaving, or Visa is acceptable?

Use an ATM at the Zurich airport.

Switzerland is Swiss Francs; the rest of your route will use Euro.

How long will you be in Switzerland? If you are leaving right away for a Eurozone country, you may have little use for Swiss currency and should load up with cash only after you reach a Euro ATM.

WE ARE ARRIVING TO ZURICH ON MAY 10TH IN THE MORNING. LATE AFTERNOON THE SAME DAY LEAVING BY TRAIN FOR BASEL. WE HAVE A ONE NIGHT HOTEL RESERVATION. WE HAVE ONE DAY IN BASEL BEFORE BOARDING A RIVER CRUISE.
