Doges Palace Secret Itineries Tour Venice
Can someone give me the official website for booking tickets for the Doges Palace Secret Itineries Tour? I presume that I must purchase both a ticket for the Doges Palace and another for the Secret Itineries tour. The commercial websites I have come across have prices for the Secret Itineries tour which vary from $A 44 per ticket (no discounted tickets for over 65) or E21.50 + E4 booking fee or E22 + E6 booking fee and E16 for over 65. These tickets do not cover the entrance to the Doges Palace itself, so where do I book these tickets? It would appear to be pointless to purchase a 9.55am ticket for the Secret Itineries and then have to stand in line to purchase an entrance ticket, and possibly miss the allocated time for the Secret Itineries. It all appears to be very confusing.

Recently, I reserved my tickets for the Secret Itineraries Tour on www.museiciviciveneziani.it. The tickets were 16 euros per person. It includes the guided tour and entrance into the Doges Palace.
I pre-paid the tickets (non-refundable) using my cc. I received a voucher via email which will be converted into a regular ticket at the box office of the Doge's Palace on the day of our visit. We plan to go through the Doge's Palace following the 9:55 tour. Hope this helps! 2010 |
Hi R1,
My notes say: "Secret Itineraries tour of Doge’s palace Phone number from US is 011 39 41 520 9070. English-speaking operator. You will not be charged for your tickets if you don't go on the tour". The secret tour includes a visit to the Palace. Enjoy your visit. ((I)) |
Is the Secret Itineraries Tour the only way to cross the Bridge of Sighs?
|
I think so.
((I)) |
I think not.
At least in the past the Bridge of Sighs was part of the self-guided general admission part of the palace (as recently as March 2007 and on all my previous visits). On my last visit (November 2007) access to the Bridge of Sighs was completely closed for repairs or something. We had taken the Secret Itineraries tour, and then toured the rest of the palace on our own and found access to the Bridge and prisons blocked. Anyone have more recent info? |
In September, we crossed the Bridge of Sighs as part of the Secret Itineraries Tour.

Is there a better time and day to take the tour relative to crowds, etc.?
|
The tour has a limited number of spots and is offered a limited number of times. when I visited in late November 2007, there was one English-language tour per day.Take the tour that is avialable.

LNM is correct.
You sign up for the tour that you can get. ((I)) |
On the Venice museum website, it looks like there are 3 tours in English: 9:55, 10:45 & 11:35.
