I'd like to add to what "Grimmy" said above regarding buying your ticket at the Correr Museum at the far end of St. Mark's Square. Your ticket to this museum gets you into the Doge's Palace also and you don't need to use it the same day. When you are in the Correr Museum, take advantage of their tiny snack bar inside the museum. You can have a slice of pizza and something cold to drink while overlooking all the activity down below in the Square. A peaceful retreat. There is also a restroom there. And very, very few people - even in June.
