Dog Friendly in France?
 

Hi

Been searching for dog friendly beaches in France but not having much luck!

We noticed when we went to France last year that most beaches do not allow dogs (yet it's ok in hotels, restaurants?)

We will be coming via the Channel Tunnel to Calais and would like to stay somewhere no more than 1 hour's drive from Calais where we can take our dog on the beach and find some nice walks.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I don't how how it is in France but on most beahces in the Netherlands, dogs are only allowed on the beach in the evenings if at all in the summer. Out of season they are allowed on anytime. I noticed in parts of the UK when we have had the pooches with us, too. I imagine that they have similar rules in France.

In France, it is the same as in the Netherlands : dogs are not allowed on beaches during the season except in the evenings. You should not have any problems in October.

Hotels and restaurants have their own rules. Some accept dogs, some don't.

Dogs are not allowed in food stores and supermarkets.
