I love Rome, too, and am hoping to plan a future trip to stay there for a full week without the same travel companions. I'd like to go with someone who will want to spend hours at the historical sights. I also loved Florence. Maybe I will leave this time with a different impression.

I have decided not to take away a day from Venice because I have never been to Venice and I am very excited about it. I am doing all the work as Loveitaly so kindly pointed out. I think the others will enjoy it, too, so I may as well do what I want.

Dome. Mom is going to read it, too which is great because all she knows of Florence (other than shopping and Tuscany)is the time she saw "that dome" on HGTV.
