Does my quart back include toothpaste?

Do I have to include pastes, etc., in my quart bag or only liquid? That would be the back taken on the plane.

Yes. Any liquids, gels, pastes must go into the quart bag. No container can be larger than 3oz/100ml.

Last I heard, it's all pastes and creams. I put my toothpaste in the quart bag just to be safe. (Although it's easy enough to buy some when you get there -- and you have a souvenir. :))

Why would you need more than 3 oz of toothpaste on a flight to anywhere?

YES

Nobody is saying they need to bring a full, large tube of toothpaste. It's not a question of the quantity of liquid or paste, but the container size. If you aren't aware of the details, you may think you could take a mostly empty tube, but I see a lot of people throwing out mostly empty bottles when they get to the airport.

It is all liquids, gels, pastes or creams - including mascara, liquid eye shadow, roll-on deodorent, nail polish, hand sanitizer pads - anything that isn't a solid.

We had a 4.4 oz tube of tooth past removed from the quart bag by TSA. Now I buy a few of the travel size for the quart bag depending on length of trip and destination.

As others have noted: regular toothpaste - yes and make sure it's the small travel size.

FYI, try toothpowder. I find it at a health food store, but probably other sources, too. It works fine, doesn't have to be in the 3-1-1 bag, and a small container lasts a really long time.

Cheers.
