Does Malev airlines ever have fare sales?
I'm looking for a flight from Budapest to Rome, and it appears that the only ones that won't shunt me through Brussels (and waste my day) are offered by Malev or Wizzair. I'm not sure about Wizzair's reputation- I've heard some crappy things about them, so I'm focusing on Malev. Prices are currently higher than I'd like, but I don't know if I should count on a fare sale from Malev or anything? Any experience with them and sales? Thanks in advance!

I monitored Malev for several months a couple years ago, and the price did not budge, so I ended up traveling with them. They had 3-tier pricing and of course sold out of the cheapest while I waited around.
I considered using Wizzair to Poland but their days and times were inconvenient, like 11:30 at night and 4 in the morning. I did fly SkyEurope, a Slovakian airline, and that was fine.
Have fun on your trip.

Air France-KLM have been in talks to buy the airline for several months now. Alitalia has had financial problems for a number of years. That being said I personally wouldn't hesitate buying a ticket from them if they have a reasonable price. I last flew on AZ in May.

Hi, I found a super useful site for this type of airline dilemma. It's called www.harefares.com and I just checked your route from Budapest to Rome and it returned 5 different airlines (3 of which have already been mentioned); the other two are germanwings and tuifly. Hope that helps.
