Does anyone know good, reasonably priced restaurants in Venice and Rome?
I'm heading to Italy over spring break with some friends and I am on a student-budget. Any restaurants that I shouldn't miss. Thanks!

There are many, many restaurants recommended here, if you search for them.
Here's one in Rome that isn't too expensive:
Maccheroni Ristorante at Piazza delle Coppelle, 44, phone 06 68307895. It’s very popular with locals and gets very busy. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is lively and interesting. About 47 EUR for two, with one-half liter of house wine.

Check out Rick Steeve's guides for the cities. We used his restaurant recommendations last august for some nice, budget friendly spots in Venice. I'm sure he also has good spots in Rome. In both places, the little cafe's for slices of pizza are a good deal - don't sit down as it will cost you more!

We did not like Maccheroni Ristorante last summer,very much over-rated and lousy food,not to mention way to expensive for a student-budget. For the best pizza and where we met many college students check out Da Baffetto,very close to Piazza Navona.

Eat in Trastevere - there are many reasonably priced restaurants there - Il Duca, Hostaria Del Moro, Margarita Pizzeria...and the list goes on. It is much more economical than in the major tourist areas.
