Does anyone in Paris take AMX?

Just wondering. My Dh has a debit card with $$ on it from his company. Would love to use it over there but am afraid no one will take AMX...

I've found only a few places that don't take Amex..a few smaller cafes mainly...but mine's a credit card not a debit.

Couldn't you just use it to withdraw cash from an ATM?

I have never had a problem with Amex in
Paris... however mine is also a credit card.

If it is a gift card, it is not usable in any ATMs nor can you use it outside the US, according to the website.
If it is a true debit card, ie. tied to a bank acct, then you could w/d cash at an ATM.

"..Some restrictions on merchant acceptance will apply to the Gift Card. The Gift Card is not for use at airline, hotel, car rental, telecom, or ATMs. It cannot be used outside of the U.S. Additional restrictions apply. See terms and conditions."

Thanks for the info. Looks like we might not be able to use it after all. Glad I asked. DH is going to call...
