Does A/C neccesary in late June in France?
Hi,
I will go to Provence and Paris in late June. I would like to ask does hotel with A/c neccesary in this period. Pls give some opinions. |
My personal preference is to insist on a/c. However, I would add that I do virtually all of my Europe trips in the spring, and partly for this reason. In addition to fewer crowds, the hotels I tend to stay at (2 star or below) generally can't gaurantee good a/c.
And I hate being hot. |
Personally, I would want it. But I can't sleep well when it is hot. In a city, depending on the location of the hotel, it isn't possible to leave the windows open at night (noise, etc).
|
Thank you HonestAbe for your sharing. I ask this question coz I find Hotel St. Jacques to be a veru nice and good choice for my budget. But the hotel doen't have A/C. So, need to decide whether to book it or not.

I am not sure if it would be necessary as the temperature will not be that high.
|
Get a/c. You never know when there will be a heat wave and it's too difficult to sleep when it's too hot.

Yes, definitely. We were there in June of 2002, and it was hot and miserable. Think about having to sleep with the windows open and listening to all the street noise? ((b))

Two years ago we were in Olso in late June-so hot, early July 300 miles south of the Artic Circle-so hot. We could not find a hotel in the downtown part of Bergen with a/c and they didn't even have a fan. The next week Paris-sweltering. And be aware that even though a place may claim to have a/c, that doesn't necessarily mean that you can turn it on. You never know with weather.
