Do you speak European? :)

No, it's not another joke! I've discovered useful phrases on Fodor's: french, german, italian, spanish

http://www.fodors.com/language/

I see language questions sometimes on Fodor's and hop this will help somebody. Found this URL while looking for useful phrases in Spanish.

No, I speak American :) Sorry, I couldn't help it.

Very useful link. Thanks.

FainaAgain Feb 20th, 2007 03:11 PM

Oh, I don't mind some teasing. I am not the one to try to learn Latin going to Latin America :))

BeachGirl247 Feb 20th, 2007 03:16 PM

Thanks, Faina. After going to the link to play around with Spanish, I came across

Es éste el camino a Madrid?

which reminds me of the movie The Mexican as Senor Brad drives an Ellll Caminooooo. So, That's my movie for the evening!

Sorry, I'm easily entertained today!
Gracias, Faina!

Nice link, Faina. I've bookmarked it.

Now. You're so good at this kind of stuff, could you find a link that would fix dinner for me tonight?

FainaAgain Feb 20th, 2007 03:55 PM

Yeah. www.pizzaRus - click on "delivery" :))

ComfyShoes Feb 20th, 2007 03:58 PM

What do you mean? Why can't we learn latin by going to latin america?! Now, don't pull my leg.

ok, I am ordering that "russian" pizza FainaAgain says we all should.

Madison Feb 20th, 2007 04:43 PM

Faina - It is a very useful site. I have French and Italian dictionaries so I can learn the basics but it will be easier to print out some of the pages and take with me on my trip to Italy/Paris instead of hauling around my books.

As this is the Chinese Year of the Pig, I have decided to learn Pig Latin. :@)

Yes, french is quite a language, no?

I did get it :)

kleeblatt Feb 21st, 2007 03:52 AM

I've tried a few phrases in Italian or Spanish and was even understood. I just couldn't understand the answer.

FainaAgain Feb 21st, 2007 07:47 AM

What is russian pizza? Bread with pickle and a side of vodka?

Schuler, LOL, this is what I am always afraid of.

Michael Feb 21st, 2007 07:49 AM

Pig latin in French is verlan, taking the first syllable and placing it at the end.
