Do you remember a book recommended?

In a message written a few months ago regarding the region around Montepulciano and San Quirico d'Orcia, a Forum member recommended reading a book written by an author from the region. I can not find the message. I would appreciate anyone's help on the recommended book. Thanks.

Perhaps War in the Val d'Orcia</i? by Iris Origo?

Several books come to mind, all good. These are my favorites:

War in Val d’Orcia: An Italian War Diary 1943-1944, by Iris Origo

Vanilla Beans and Brodo: Real Life in the Hills of Tuscany, by Isabella Dusi

Enjoy!

Thanks very much. I will try to find these books at the library. I do think the book I was thinking of was by Iris Origo.
