Do you know this restaurant in Paris?
 

Four or five years ago DH and I visited Paris for a week in early December. 16 hours dark a day, rain/snow, empty restaurants, great hotel deals, an incredibly romantic city and we seemed to be the only tourists around.
One night we wound up at a restaurant in a dead end square(?) between the Louvre and Notre Dame. We were the only diners, and it started to snow outside. We kept looking for Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman to walk in. Good food, solicitous service, and I'm pretty sure I'd never find it again. We'll be in Paris two nights in May and I know we'll go to Le Souffle, but I'd certainly love to find that other place again. Could the name have been La Vie de Rose or anything similar. Small, intimate, the stuff they made movies of in the forties. Thanks for any help and I know how few clues I'm offering.

Could it have been La Rose de France in Place Dauphine?

I am amazed! Thank you both for taking the time to guess; I checked the website and there it was. I would never have bet I'd have the answer in 13 minutes. This takes care of our dinner plans for that second night.

a quick recommendation for you - great for the view. Foodies would probably turn up their nose at it, but it is the atmosphere that makes it great. (And they've been great to us when we travel with kids!) Make a reservations and ask for a window table - Chez Francis. It is on Pont de l'Alma (where Princess Diana died) which is across from the Eiffel Tower. With a window table, you can watch it twinkle at night!
