Do you know these places near Zermatt?
 

I have an unusual question. My parents went to Switzerland in 1938, and my father kept a diary. I am following their journey. There are two places I can't find (it may be his handwriting). One he described as a "high flattish place" that is 8,600 ft., not a peak, but just north of the Matterhorn. He called it Hohbahn.

The other is when climbing toward Gornergrat, they were near the top but since the weather was cloudy, they turned toward Grunsee.

I have Googled these two names (Hohbahn and Grunsee) and looked in books but can't find them Can anyone help?

Sorry but if you do google "grunsee & Zermatt", you will get 36700 hits. It's a small lake found between Sunnegga and Gornergrat (sort of, on the map).

And Hohbahn can be a misspelling of Hochbahn. Google suggests that.

Hohbahn is most likely Hohbalm.

I can't explain why I thought I couldn't find Grunsee. I hadn't thought of linking it with Zermatt. But thank you anyway for the great link.
