Do you know the official Italian websites for...............!
We are a group of 10 Texans making a return pilgrimage to Italy. I am in charge of our "official Itinerary" and would appreciate your help. Perhaps it will help other travelers as well!

I assumed you have done searches on the internet for the associated websites? I don't know if these towns have "official" websites but do know that there are sites about Tuscany or Umbria that cover a lot of the hilltowns you have in your list. What kind of information are you looking for?

Whenever I've looked at "official" websites for Italian towns, they've been in only Italian. That is my experience, doesn't mean all of them are only in Italian. You might have a hard time on the town websites if you don't read Italian. I'm not sure what being Texan has to do with anything.

I'm assuming that you mean the Accademia in Florence. Uffizi and Academia Museum Reservations The easiest and cheapest way is to call Florence 1010987 (dial around number), 011 (U.S. international access code) 39 (Italy's country code) then 055-294-883 8:30-18:30 M-F and 8:30-12:00 Sat. Florence time. There is a long listing of press 1 for this and 2 for that--press 4 for bookings. You will get an English speaking operator and in 2-3 minutes YOU CAN RESERVE FOR BOTH. This is through the reservation service at the Uffizi and costs beyond the normal entry fee only about 3 euro for the service. This is MUCH cheaper than the commercial booking services. You will not be charged for the reservations unless you use them. I notice that Venice is not on your list. Is there a reason? ((I)) |

ira Being a slow learner, I tried weekendafirenze.com. Fortunately, it would not take my reservations so I called our villa. They made the reservations on our behalf. Also ira, Venice is absolutely one of the great wonder cities of the world (2nd only to San Antonio). My wife and I have been there several times. However, with this larger group (and given that some had been to Venice before), we decided to head south and see Positano Amalfi area.
