For speedier replies, re-post your question with Rome in the title. Right now you could be asking about anywhere in the world! It wouldn't hurt to add the budget, either.

My reservations are set...I'll be in front of my TV, in my living room, and sleeping in my bed! Can't beat that rate!

As for Rome, I quickly went to www.worldhotels.com and plugged in your dates, I found things from 106 euro up to 340 euro per night. I stayed at the Grand Palazzo Carpegna (one of their hotels) last October and it was nice. They seemed to have alot of business travellers staying there.

It was about a block from the Metro, quiet and clean. Their rates are 128 per night.

Good luck!

On NYE I'll be in Barcelona in an apartment we have rented in the El Born area! First time we will ring in the New Year in another country!

Good luck with Rome!
