Do you have a favorite travel insurance company?

We (my husband, 2 elementary school-aged kids and I) are traveling to Paris and London in June. I am planning to pick up travel insurance for trip cancellation, trip interruption and medical transport home. We will be staying in an apartment in Paris, taking Eurostar to London and lodging somewhere in London. My questions are: Do you have a favorite travel insurance company? Have you ever made a claim, and if so, were they responsive? Thanks

Hello suz, while waiting for answers you might want to take a look at www.insuremytrip.com which has lots of insurance companies listed and their coverages.

I've had good luck with TravelGuard. They came through for me twice.

I have used TravelGuard also for 8 different trips abroad. I feel pretty confident with it and that I'm well covered.

I've used Travel Guard too and was happy with them (we filed a claim and got our money back). I've also used Travel Insured. Definitely check out www.insuremytrip.com.

I'm considering the new policy/benefit whereby one can cancel "for any reason" for our September trip. Our office will have displaced 66% of our group this spring, and I am planning for two weeks off in Sept. for an Italy trip. We will have to reorganize the work that is left with the people that are left to do it, so I don't know how it's going to look by that time.
I think it's Travelsafe that has the benefit, and maybe one other company. I believe it shows up as an option on the Insuremytrip comparisons.

We have used 3 different companies, based on the insuremytrip.com criteria when we're travelling. Different trips sometimes require different companies, based onthe kind of coverage we need.
