Paris Le Marais Budget Hotel for Oct?

Looking for a budget hotel in Marais late Oct for 3 nights.. Have done numerous research around this over the web. There are plenty of listings however the feedbacks are either inconsistent or out-of-date.

Looking for a place under 75 euros per night for short stay. Nothing fancy and understand u get what u paid for, but safety is a must.

Any recommendation greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Liablo,

I think Eurocheapo generally has good budget hotels listed.

Hi,
I stayed at the Hotel Sevigné on rue Malher a couple of years ago and was very happy. It is just off the Rue Rivoli and a very short walk to the Place des Vosges. I think it is still within your price range. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are smallish but comfortable and I certainly considered the hotel and the area to be very safe.

Is the 75 euros for a single or a double? We stayed at the Hotel de Nice (http://www.hoteldenice.com) over New Years last year, great location, right across from the Hotel de Ville, prices on the website are 75 euro/single, 105 euro/double

I've stayed at the Hotel du Septieme Art in rue St Paul. Pleasant enough, and I can't imagine safety would be an issue.

Check out Pointe Rivoli in the Marais, recommended by Rick Steves and LP. Very clean and functional and right in front of St. Paul metro. Walkable to Notre Dame and the left bank, as well as the Jewish quarter and Picasso and Place de Voges. Good location.

However, the tiny steep spiral stairs (all the way to the 6th floor) are very treacherous. They'll help you carry your luggage to your room, but walking up and down those stairs is a vertigo experience, even for hikers like us!
