Do you ever think you're just going to burst?

I am right there with you all: we leave Sept 20. My husband has never been to Europe before and has not been involved in the planning much. He is the type who doesn't get excited until the day before we leave, whereas I get excited every time I find another great restaurant recommendation! I have maps all over the house and a dozen lists of places to go. That's the reason I'm here on the board every day too--besides all the great info, you guys know exactly how I feel!

We are leaving for a 21 day trip to Italy September 7 at 2:00 PM. Four days
in Venice, seven days in Sorento and then seven days in Montacini.
We feel like we are standing on one foot for the next 58 days ( who's counting?):-B

I am 9 weeks out from my first trip to Rome. Now that I have hote and transportation out of the way, I am concentrating on working out daily, earning vacation time at the office, saving $$$, and trying to find a linen dress since it's apparently "in" this season in Rome.

Green Dragon, what a terrible story. I would almost feel like fate was intervening.
Here I am kvetching because I "have" to go to Albuquerque to take care of my brother in Oct and to Acapulco because my SIL lives for her two weeks there, and then back to Albq in Feb, so I can't plan a trip to Europe till next year.

I think I'm usually about to burst. I leave it at that, emotionally speaking and travel related, despite the temptation to take that thought down other paths.
Trips are too few and too far between, and we're not getting to Europe again until 2004. But we're going to Australia again in December of this year, which I'm pretty excited about. And we're trying to manuever an extended stopover in Singapore, Tokyo or Bangkok, but still haven't worked that out. I can't wait.

dear ivy
you must be very young if this is what you feel. prepering yourself to the jorney (books, maps, learn some new words of the language the people speak
in the countries you are going to visit) is a big part of the fun.
for my personal point of vew - reaching the airport (all the noise, long que
for sequrity checking, interntional atmospher. duty-free shops and the check-in) is enough. and I can go back home to sleep in mu own familiar bed.
Well. I was not very serious writing the last sentence. but take it easy (proportions my dear, proportions)and
have fun, and remember that when you hope too much. it can end with dissapointment, B U T, nothing is irreperable, and there is always the
NEXT trip, and touring a place in the second time makes you even a better and cleverer tourist.
