Yes. I am considered a "regular" at the Astoria in Munich and I receive a card at Christmas.

A nicer staff I have yet to find, anywhere.

They know an amazing number of their regular customers by sight and call them by name. All four of the regulars are at least bi-lingual with English being one of the languages.

We have gotten several over the years. Including one email just recently from the Seven Hill in Istanbul as mentioned by Julie Vilkmanis---interesting because we had sent an inquiry to them but had not stayed there.

Have also gotten cards from a small hotel in Lake Orta and one in Oberammergau. I think it's great that these smaller places continue the "personal" touch---we are always very happy when these cards arrive.

I got a greeting card from the Hotel Castex in Paris and I've only just made a reservation. I'm not staying there until May.

Good timing! today we got a card from the D'Angleterre in Paris and the couple who own the Paris Perfect Apts.
I think that is very good public relations..but we have never filled out any forms or rated them.

I get several from hotels where we've stayed, but I got a very nice card today from a hotel in Verona, Italy I've never even heard of, yet alone stayed there!

I received a lovely email Christmas card from a B&B in Rome. The owners had posted here advising about their new B&B and were told them were advertising, they apologized and never posted again.

I sent an email to them inquiring about the B&B and received a lovely email back and then today received their email Christmas card. I enjoyed hearing from them.

I get e-greetings for throughout the year from the owner of a lovely pension I stayed at in Italy called soggiorno il girosol. I usually email back with a greeting, too.

For the second year, I received an email greeting card from the Celal Sultan Hotel in Istanbul. We chose the hotel based on recommendations from this board, and found it to be perfect for our stay. Great location right near Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque, and the Cistern.

No, but this year we got a Christmas card from our local Indian takeaway, which is kinda embarrassing. I guess we need to cook more.

Two, both in the Swiss Alps. Must be a swiss thing. If they were from small establishments they might mean something, but I see them as nothing more than a marketing ploy. I rank these cards about as high as my annual card from my local optical center.
