Do without Fodor's ...or?

If this site went permanently "blank" what is your best suggestion regarding a place where <BR>"Former Fodorites" could meet online?<BR>I can almost hear all the trolls coming out of the woodwork.<BR>Hope some of the "regulars" would respond.

I guess we could all go over to one of the other travel boards and arrange to meet there temporarily until we decided.<BR>I'm just so happy it's back up and running.

What on earth happened? Why did we get moved over to Random House?!?

brezzy May 27th, 2002 11:59 AM

Fodors is owned by Random House.<BR>I was hoping they would allow us to hook up direct links to other web pages but I guess they do not want to as they will be innudated with Spam.

How about if we agree to meet at the new board, travel-board.com. It doesn't have many posters yet, but it would do until we could come back here.

Natasha May 27th, 2002 04:54 PM

Let's Go is okay if you're desperate.

Meeting at the new site, www.travel-board.com, if this one ever goes down permanently sounds like a good idea. Anyone else?

Topper May 27th, 2002 06:01 PM

Topping. Travel-board.com it is, in case of emergency!

mimi taylor May 27th, 2002 06:03 PM

Ok with me I already registered there. I cant get here since fodor came back, <BR>I enter thru google..very strange so I may leave here.

www.travel-board.com sounds fine to me. I think a lot of people could get in touch by e-mail even if things did end here. Now, if you work for www.travel-board.com, please don't sabotage Fodors to get more visitors.

Looks like a nice site -- thanks for the heads-up. (Can't replace Fodor's, of Course!)

Check out www.igougo.com It's pretty terrific. Has great journals to read on destinations and there's a message board as well. Also, there's a function for emailing members.
