Do We Need Passes for Christmas Holiday in Paris
I thought I had covered everything for this trip but went online and got as far as submitting the credit card info and thought I would check with you guys and see if this is the right thing to do....We will be there from Christmas Eve until the 28th, and I was thinking of getting a four day pass (louve, etc) , three day would be perfect but they do not have 3 day. I know my family will not want to stand in line, any suggestions. Thanks

first, check the websites and make sure they're open. Kids under 18 get in free, so keep that in mind. We were there around Christmas and lots of Americans and Europeans vacation during that time and the line can still be long. If you intend to visit other museums and monuments (except for the Eiffel Tower) the museums pass will get you into a bunch of them.

I never get the passes ahead of time, but buy one at the first museum I go to. Just ensure that your first choice is not an incredibly popular one, eg Louvre or Orsay. Last time I picked one up at the Crypt by Notre Dame. Well worth a quick look too, as it is then free on the pass.
From the website you will have a list of places on the pass so you will be able to determine one which is near to where you are staying or on the route to what you want to visit. Don't forget that you can stop at any museum on the list to buy the pass without having to then spend time at that particular museum if it holds no interest for you at all.
However, one of the things I like about the pass is that I have come across several gems because I have gone to a museum that I would otherwise have given a miss to, on the basis that I am going past anyway and if it is boring I've only wasted 15 mins to find that out.
