Elvira...regarding Inky, before this morning I would have agreed with you. However, there is a civil exchange between him/her and me that ends up with some OK stuff from him/her on the thread Fantasy Lives on Fodors, which is currently residing in the first 50. Since I began the thread, I'd be pleased to see your contribution -- just a little free advert here! :)

kk, I read the post, but it isn't really useful travel info, unless I'm missing something?

I travelled on BA RT Boston/London last month. I too requested some water, from the drink cart. I was told that they did not have any water. The attendant politely asked if I would like another beverage. I declined, I believe my tone was one of disappointment, not rudeness. She suggested a couple of other choices. That was when my frustration probably showed. In my heart I could not believe that there was no water on that plane. I also believed that she was surprised and annoyed that I did not want another beverage. I truly didn't. Later small water containers were served with meal trays. I made no comment, but is everything on board so structured that a water request could not be accommodated? If it is and the attendant had explained this and that I would receive water shortly it would have made me feel better. I really felt that the attendant, as polite as she was, did not want to go out of her way. I do not believe I am a difficult passenger, but the incident really bothered me. I spoke to a retired airline attendant upon my return(US attendant). She thought it was impossible that there was no water available. What is the story with water and BA?

Useful travel info from Inky, you say not, Elvira? Well, to be exact, yes, you are right. I guess I was just delighted that he/she (I wonder which) said something that was not a complete slam against a poster. I found thar refreshing, if not exactly useful.

Wow. I had no idea Inky was so passionate about this site.Clearly I'm
a novice.I do appreciate the worthwile
responses,Inky must be a shrinky to see right through me like that.Obviously I'm not worthy of the benefits of this site and your superior advice. Now I
understand why people tell you to slink away.Just remember...what goes around comes around.I'm sure all your future
flights will be flawless.Sounds likey?
No, because I made it up.Right, Inky?

Maybe Inky is my dark side, like Vader to Anakin Skywalker if I can use a Star Wars analogy. Maybe I post 'nicer' replies as someone else. Maybe.

Christine, I'm sure your family told it the way they saw it - all I'm saying is that it was more than likely exaggerated. Don't sweat it.

Hi:
My last three flights with BA were terrific...plenty of water during drink service and available in the galley during the flight...just got up and asked (I don't expect a FA to drop everything just to give me a drink of water..I am amazed that there was no water available on the drink cart..that is all I want when I am flying. Try them again..please!

1. Delta pilots shouldn't be striking with the big pay raise just offered
2. BA is a fine airline & gets my vote of approval. 3. Beth asked what her nickname " B A " stood for & none of you southern californians responded?

Tipsy,

Funny you should ask that... on a visit many years ago I picked up some BA surfwear/beachwear cuz I thought it was cool - is that what you are referring to?

:-)
