Do they supply?
We will be visiting Switzerland,Austria,Germany and Greece.Could anyone tell us if MOST tourist hotels in Europe supply shampoo, hairdryers etc. |
How much are you planning to spend per night? Some do and some don't, the more you spend the more likely they will.

That's what I would say -- the more expensive ones (3*+) usually do, but it's spotty below that level. They are more likely to supply shampoo than a hair dryer, as it's cheaper -- hair dryers seem to be frequently broken or useless anyway in cheaper places, in my experience. I stayed in a pensione in Austria (and not the cheapest) and it didn't have either.

If not, it can be fun to discover new bath and hair products in other countries. You can just ask the hotel when making reservations if they have dryers. Seems that many do now, even the cheaper ones. Traveling as much as you will be, it would be nice not to have to lug around a hair dryer! |
Wemr,
No need to be so grouchy! This is a legitimate question--they just want to know if they need to pack them or not. I don't use a hairdryer, but if I did, not having to pack it would save a lot of space. Travellers, In answer to your question, most places supply shampoo but dryers are less common. Sometimes the shampoo is what I consider weird (more like dish soap), so I generally carry a small bottle (like you get in a hotel) for those places. |
