Do they smoke on buses in Turkey and Greece?

I just watched a couple of DVDs on travel in Turkey and Greece. I keep hearing that buses are more efficient and cheaper than trains but was horrified to see someone smoking on a bus. Do they smoke on long distance buses? Planes too?

The bus drivers and taxi drivers smoke in Greece - but I never observed a passenger doing it.

Thank you. I am somewhat relieved that passengers do not smoke on buses but it is still disturbing that a bus driver would smoke in such a confined space. I can easily refuse to ride with a taxi driver who would smoke during a ride but obviously do not have the same advantage with a bus driver.

Buses are nonsmoking, occasionally driver would smoke but with his window open and vantilation is good so if you are not sitting behind him you would not smell anything. If you ride on Varan or Ulusoy buses they are definatelly smoke free even driver would not. Taxis: if driver will smoke you can ask him not to, perfectly acceptable.
Planes non smoking too. Open air always smoking :-))

Happy Travelling,
