Do Telecom cards still exist in Italy?

Previously I have used telecom cards in Italy and they worked great. Has anyone used these lately and can they be used on Hotel phones? I thought I had used them at our hotel.

It appears getting a cell phone for Europe would be costly for the 8 days I will be there and so I am leaning towards the card, providing they are still available.

Any info would be very much appreciated.

I bought one several years ago when I couldn't get my cell phone to work. I would think they still sell them, but it's rare to see a payphone anymore.

Thanks! I think I have decided to get an unlocked cell phone that works in Italy. Thanks to this forum I have found great posts on how and where to get one for Italy.
