Do regular Sunday markets in France operate as usual on Easter Sunday?

We arrive at a gite on Saturday evening, and the next day is Easter. Do regular Sunday markets operate on holidays?

I've googled, and I've seen information from people who insist you wouldn't notice any difference with it being Easter. I've also read accounts that swear everything is closed up tight until the following Tuesday.

We'll be in Normandy. Which description is closer to the truth? Especially when it comes to market days?

Yes, they will operate on Easter Sunday and close on Easter Monday as is usual for 'regular' Mondays throughout the year.

I meant weekly town markets rather than stores.

Is this true in Spain as well? We were in Italy on an Easter Sunday and everything was open on Easter morning--markets and stores. I was surprised.

Remember that people will be buying food for Sunday lunch, even more important on Easter Sunday. So markets will be open in France.

That's reassuring; thanks. I so appreciate your responses.

I'm sorry to sound so fretful, but this week in Normandy will include extended family, some of whom have never been to France before. I want things to go smoothly and enjoyably ... and I do worry about keeping everyone well-fed.

It looks like there's a Sunday market at Port-en-Bessin, not far from our gite. I look forward to Easter....
