actually, I'd get a navigation system in the rental car!
|
I will have GPS but it sounds like a good idea to have maps as backups.
If not TCI, what about Michelin maps? |
I couldn't open your links scrb, but mine looks like this:
http://store.maplink.com/map.aspx?pid=530632 It's more of an atlas, as the book is spiral bound. I find this much easier than unfolding a huge atlas. I don't recall if it's in English or not, but you will want the Italian names of the towns anyways so I don't think it really matters too much. Best wishes, Tracy |
I have visited this part of Umbria six or eight times. The TCI maps are, IMO, the best.
If you want a relatively painless route into Perugia (a difficult city to manage) I suggest you visit SlowTrav and search for a note that was published several years ago on the subject. It is a priceless street by street routing to a parking garage near the series of escalators to central Perugia. Good luck. If you need dining recommendations in the area let me know. |
Thanks Tracy, that looks like a complete version of a the ones I saw, which are specific to Tuscany for the first one and Umbria and Marche for the second one.
They're each about $10 so $30 for the spiral one sounds okay. |
