Do I need a converter for a nebulizer?
 

Hi forum,

My family will be traveling in France and Spain this summer. My daughter has asthma and uses a nebulizer (breathing machine that plugs into wall outlet). Does anyone know if I can use just my adapter for this or will I blow a fuse? (We are staying in an old farmhouse part of the time). Do I need a converter? Has anyone used a nebulizer with the adapter only?

Look at the power adapter for the nebulizer to see if the power/hertz specs say: 120/240V, 50/60Hz.

If so, just get the proper power outlet adapter to convert US plugs to Euro spec and you're set.

We travel quite a bit and have two asthmatics in the family - we never travel without a nebulizer - have you ever considered buying one of the hand held battery operated ones? They are great for travel - and you can use anywhere, on the plane, in a car, on a train, etc.

jgg, that's a great idea. Where can you get those and how much do they cost?

We have an omron ultra sonic nebulizer. We ordered it online. We have owned two aeronebs but had some reliability problems with them. You do need a prescription to get these, but I'm sure your dr. will give you one.
