Do I have too much time?

Ever since I discovered this forum (when I researched for a trip to France early this year), I have been constantly visiting this site.
I don't work, yet I visit the site even when I have chores to do (could hardly get any done), and even during bedtime. At times when I couldn't sleep, I'll plop the laptop while in bed and read the postings. I'm not much of a contributor, but I love knowing where others like me have been to, what clothes thet wear, what shoes they travel with, what food to eat and not eat when travelling ... I believe that I already know personally the regulars, who, like me, like to visit this site very often - almost like 24 hours a day.

I am not sure if I should agree with my husband, but he thinks that I have way too much time on my hands by my facination with this web site. He claims that I waste too much time with this.

Do you agree with my husband?
Well, you COULD suggest to your husband that some of that extra time be consumed with more travel... :o)

Good answer Jim!

Rosa,
It will subside a bit.
soon, you will be only logging on a few times a day,
Believe me,
I've been there!
And, there are definitely more harmful ways to spend time! :-)
I only started planning for my trip a couple of months ago and I'm leaving in two weeks. I don't know how people plan for these things a year in advance. I can't think about anything else and it's all I talk about when I see my friends. All the planning's done. I'm just obsessed!

Perhaps, this query warrants some profound response from the so-called regulars.

This is a great site, and I'm sure that Rosa is not the only one showing signs of addiction.

Personally, I relate a visit to this site like browsing through some great travel magazines or books. And yes, there is also a feeling of catching up with friends. No harm there.

I think it only becomes a problem if we find ourselves so involved in other people's life experiences, we forget to get out and have lives of our own. Or if the people on this site become more important than the friends and family around us.

Janine,
do agree with you.
Browsing and visiting.
This site works like a "interactive" travel magazine.
There are different levels of friends, and my "cyber friends" I have here are just one of those levels.

Regarding your husband's comment... it's my opinion that when people accuse others of "wasting too much time" on an activity, it's because they either don't understand it, or don't like it themselves.
