Diving Bergen to Oslo, what route, where to stay for a night or so?

When our Nat Geo trip finishes we will be in Bergen. We are thinking of driving to Oslo instead of taking the train, as part of the Nat Geo trip is by train.

What is the most scenic route from Bergen to Oslo, and if we took 2-3 days to do it, where would be good places to stay overnight?

If you mean the Nat Geo Trains and Fjords tour then that covers part of Sognefjord and Flåm. I would then drive the Hardangerfjord route from Bergen via Rosendal, staying at Baroniet Rosendal - http://baroniet.no/en/ Then E134 to Oslo with a side trip to Dalen staying at - http://www.dalenhotel.no/en/

Hi dyoll, yes that is the trip we are taking, quite excited our first trip to Norway!

Those two Hotels look wonderful!!! Thanks!

We're trying to decide if after the Nat Geo trip we stay in Bergen for another day or two (only one full day there with Nat Geo) and then drive through some of Norway south to Denmark, or just stay in Norway.

I was voting for driving down to Denmark, but I am finding more and more to do just in southern Norway!

Let me know please of an other ideas you have. We are "slow" tourists, love to wander around small pretty villages and small towns, scenery, history walking and easy hikes

There is plenty to do in south Norway. Don't forget that one-way cross-border car hire (i.e. Norway to Denmark) may not be possible or extremely expensive - you need at least to check that before planning further. A lot of people seem to find one day in Bergen enough - most everything is very central and walkable - depends on what you want to do.

I think we have pretty much decided to stay in Norway. Denmark can be another trip!
