Does anyone have a good route (quick) from Fussen to Frankfurt? We will be spending our next to last night in Fussen and our last night in Darmstadt. Also, if you could give me an idea how long a drive it is. <BR>Thanks!!!

It's a little over 3 hours or so if you take the A7 south at a good clip. About 250 miles or so.

Lily, <BR>It's a bit more than 4 hours from Fussen to Frankfurt, some 250 miles almost all of which is via autobahn. From Fussen, take rte 309 northwest to A7. Continue on A7 past Kempten and Memmingen to Rte A8/E52 at Ulm. Take A8 west to Karlsruhe, then A5/E35 north to Frankfurt or Darmstadt which is about 18 miles south of Frankfurt.

Take Bundesstrasse 310 towards Kempten. At Nesselwang turn right and join Autobahn A7 at AB Nesselwang/Nr 138. Stay on A7 to just south of Würzburg at Autobhan-Kreuz Biebelried and join A3. Stay on A3 to Frankfurter Kreuz (near airport). Take A5 south to AB Weiterstadt/Darmstadt and take B42 to centre. It's about 270 miles and takes around 4 hours. Often the drive out of Füssen is rather slow (Pfronten -Nesselwang section is a bit of a bottleneck), but once on the Autobahn you can go pretty quick (though the large sections of A7 has speed limit of around 120-130 km/h ~ 75-80 mph). I prefer A7 rather than the alternative A8/A5 as the latter (older Autobahns) carry a lot more traffic, esp trucks.
