London City airport is a small airport to the East of Central London. It's the closest airport to the centre of London.
To find out how to get there, check out their website at www.londoncityairport.com This has details on how to get there from Heathrow and Gatwick.
Have a good trip, however you decide to get there.

Hi Marcie
It's a wonderful little airport - with a 20 minute check-in time! From Heathrow a London taxi will cost you about £50 to £60. Alternatively get the underground and connect with Docklands Light Railway to Prince Regent then get a taxi. Good luck.

It is possible to do it on public transport, and it may well be quicker than a taxi, and definitely cheaper, but if you have loads of baggage, it could be a bit of a pain.
I would take the Tube to central London (Picc. Line from the airport) and then swap lines as need be. I would give yourself at least 90 minutes from getting through Heathrow Customs to arriving at the airport.
