I forget the details but some of the lens were plastic, others were just the output from military production that failed processing for the core product and diverted. Not sure ice shards would work ;-)

I collect FED lenses somewhat, if I spot one. Not made of glass. They took many Zeiss/Jena engineers after the war to make the fake Leica production more robust.

There's a craze about Lomo anamorphic lenses yes. But that's about the anamorphic bit.
