Disneyland Paris

We are family of 5 from Australia in Paris for a week in April, where is the best place to buy tickets for Disneyland? Should we purchase tickets before we leave home? And how do we access the FastPass for the rides? Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't buy a ticket unless they are an authorized re-seller. I don't know if the poster above is or not, but I would be wary.

I can tell you how Disney (Florida) works with regard to fastpasses, I can only assume it is the same ?

You get a fastpass that gives you a designated window to return and you bypass the line. However, you can't get multiple fastpasses - you cannot get another one until the window of the first is open (or passed).

For example, if you get a fastpass for a ride to come back between 10:10 and 11:10, you cannot get another fastpass until 10:10. At 10:10, the best strategy is to get a fastpass for another ride and then go ride the first one.

There are very specific strategies for which rides to ride and which to get fastpasses for - I would read this board - there are experts there!

As of a couple of years ago if you go to Disney Paris on the RER you can purchase your round trip ticket and tickets to the park as a package at the RER station.

I agree with Surfmom about not buying tickets from anyone but an authorized seller. It can get tricky.

At the rides you will see a machine for the fastpass.

I agree with surfmom - I don't think the fast pass is included with your tickets. You get the fast pass at the ride itself by sticking your park ticket into a machine then it will give you a fast pass for that ride telling you when you can come back and be first in line.

One hint for Paris Disney - leave the park well before it closes otherwise there will be a HUGE line for the train back to Paris. We left shortly before the park closed, and got stuck in a very long line to buy return train tickets to Paris. If you can buy your return train tickets in advance that would be a good idea!

Do you plan to just go to Disney for the day? If you think you will be there two days out of your trip, I would check the park's web site for packages including hotel. For 5 that may (or may not) be cheaper than going in and out of Paris two days running. Worth a little research.

I have yet to see anywhere that any Disney ticket is "discounted 50%" and folks above are correct about the Fast Passes..you need a park ticket to put into a machine designated for a particular attraction to get a Fast Pass.

Those hotel packages for the on-Disney property are NOT cheap (we've stayed in the "castle" hotel and now i see the rates have gone up and when you have a poor exchange rate (in our case, US Dollars) it is even MORE expensive and I really question the value for money.

we are just planning on going to Disneyland for one day, we have already booked an apartment in Paris for a week.
Thanks for all your help.

No need to buy tickets before you leave home. There aren't really huge discounts on the tickets whereveer you buy them!

When in Paris, you can also get the tickets at the Disney Store on the Champs Elysees.

The best thing to do, would be to buy a one day hopper pass. Meaning you can freely enter/leave both of the parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studio's). Although the Disneyland park is regarded the more beautiful one, Walt Disney Studio's does have some good attractions (nice shows, Tower of Terror, Crush's Coaster ect).

The one day hopper passes aren't widely advertised, but they do exist!
