Disneyland Paris??
 

IS Disneyland Paris worth it?? GOing to Paris in March. I am a HUGE Disneyland (Anaheim) Fan. Thank you

Yes but only if you're a huge Disneyland fan like i am. Of course it's similar to ones in US but different nuances. But if this is you reason for going to Paris i'd think twice - as an adjunct to Paris, OK as this is a convenient chance to do the Disneyland thing again. I took my young son twice and we loved it each time and we had been to Orlando's as well. Overall you won't find too much difference - the Italians were trying to cut in line! go for it as long as you are not neglecting Paris for it.

I visited Disneyland Paris this past spring as a day trip. I really enjoy Disneyland, and it was something different to break up the art and culture overload I was starting to experience. Plus, one of my travel companions had never been to a Disneyland before in her life - so she wanted to see one.

The park is very similar to the one in California, though it seemed that there were not as many rides. All the major ones are there, though.

The biggest differences I found were small and relatively unimportant.

In the US Disney parks, the employees are exceedingly pleasant and hyper cheery - my sister interned with Disney for 6 months, and apparently they are trained to be that way.

The Paris Disney employees we encountered were not like that. Most were pleasant, some were indifferent and some were surly. While standing in line at a food concession, the employee taking orders for our line got into an argument with someone else (a supervisor, presumably) and walked off the job. Other employees refused to take her place to take orders, so we stood around for a while until the supervisor himself started taking the orders.

Other differences is litter was allowed to accumulate in the park - in the US Disney parks you know there are people constantly sweeping things up. The bathrooms started to smell towards the end of the day, and used paper towels were overflowing the trash cans.

Of course, we were there in early May, so not the height of tourist season. The differences did not diminish our enjoyment of the park - it was interesting to see the differences.

One thing I noticed - they really love doughnuts. Instead of the hot dogs, popcorn, churros, etc. carts you see in the US, there were tons of doughnut kiosks.

The hubby and I went there one evening with friends who worked for Disney at the time (free admission). I've got to admit it was pretty fun. And Space Mountain was better than Anahiem. It seemed faster and does an upside-down loop! Hope you have a great trip to Paris and Disney.

We finally spent a day there this past summer during our 12 day stay in Paris. It was great fun. Yes, Space Mountain is wilder!

The most surprising thing to me was that we had trouble getting decent food. We wanted to eat dinner about 7 or 7:30 before the light parade, but most of the restaurants closed before that. We had to book a reservation at what we finally decided was the TOP choice, and it was simply mediocre -- worse than food at WDW in Orlando or in Anaheim, and the worst service I think I've ever experienced in a restaurant anywhere. I was very surprised. I also freaked because I smelled popcorn everywhere -- but it only is sold dripping in sugar coating!!!

The light parade this summer was really special -- lots of blacklight effects, and each float stopped while the people performed, then moved on.

we'll be in paris in march and are planning a day trip to disneyland. our 9 y.o. daughter is along on this trip, otherwise, i doubt we adults would leave paris. but, we are also fans of disneyLAND, so we are eager to see the differences. like alice's curious labyrinth!

we are planning to take the RER from the gare de lyon. i believe you can buy combo RER/Disney tickets there. does that sound right to anyone who has done it?

We were just there last week. If you are a huge Disney fan then you really should go. It was fun and some of the rides seemed longer than the ones in the U.S. There were no crowds at all while we were there, so we had no waiting in line what-so-ever. I have "heard" that when it is busy some folks get really aggressive in the lines.
You can take the RER and the stop is a two minute to the park.

Yes if you are a huge disney fan it's totally worth it... its the most expensive disney park ever built. The level of detail in the buidlings in the park is impressive as well as the vegitation.

There are less rides in the one in Paris and dont waste your time with Studio Disney. As amazing as The Magic Kingdom is, Studio Disney is dazzlingly underwhelming.

Space Mountain will be closed in march because they are reworking it into Space Mountain Mission 2 which opens in April.
