Discover card...an option in Europe...

Going to England/Netherlands in a few days, I always use my Cap One Visa but like to take a backup card...Is Discover widely known/accepted in these countries or would you recommend a Visa or Mastercard backup instead?

Discover is NOT accepted in Europe, bring a Visa or a Mastercard

Hi D,

Not a Discover card.

The only place i've ever seen in Europe that took a Discover card was when i paid for my son's U.S. passport at the American Embassy in Paris.

So unless you lose your passport leave the card at home - it's worthless in Europe.

Discover card is not supported/available in europe - no one will take it.

It is a North America-only product. (Probably the State Department in set up to take it so that is how it worked for PQ)
