Discounted air fares within Europe

NPR's 'Savvy Traveler' recently had a segment on excellent rates for flight segments within Europe. Apparently the segments must be purchased from the US and aren't available once you're in Europe. The flights go for as little as $65 each and are offered by AirFrance, British Airways and Spanair.

The information is available at the following web address: http://www.savtrav.com/show/updates/2002/20020329.shtml

The big "One World" alliance (American, British et al) have a discount program for intra-Europe travel (also good RTW fares). See http://www.oneworld.com/products/visit_europe.cfm

The "star alliance" (United, Austrian, Lufthansa...and more I can't remember) also has a flight pass. I couldn't find it on the web site, but if you call United or Lufthansa customer service, they will tell you about it.
