Discount Airfare LAX to Venice

My friend is leaving LAX to Venice on 6/2/06 and returning 6/12/06. The airfares through Travelocity are WAY TOO HIGH!!

Does anyone know of another website/source to get discount tickets for this trip?

Thanks!

Search "consolidator" here. See also the cheap Flights forum of www.eurotrip.com - - if the moderator there (Don) can't help you, then no one can.

By the way, what "too high" fares are you finding?

Best wishes,

Rex

I don't think you will find anything for under $1K. Airfare to Europe is always way too high from LAX during the summer (this is why I try to go before summer:) ).

Your friend can try checking these websites:
kayak.com
mobissimo.com
sidestep.com
expedia.com

good luck!

Your friend has a problem - all I can see is about $1200, and it's only slightly less to Milan - where I thought you might try training to Venice from

Try www.1800flyeurope.com - if you phone, they'll tell you the airline. And, booking on the phone could not be more pleasant.

I booked an open jaw SFO to Genoa, and Venice/SFO (for you who do not know, I am from San Francisco, enjoylife is from Los Angeles, only about 1 hour apart flight time) I booked our May trip in December, and payed $1002.00 including taxes on lufthansa, stopping over in Munich. Maybe you should look on that site..lufthansa.com. I read other posters saying that they are holding out for the end of February for summer flights, but I decided not to take the chance. Airfares for that time period are going up already from when I booked. It is, unfortunately, expensive to fly from the west coast to Europe. Just try not to layover in New York, if you can help it. Try to have only one layover, and have it be in europe..that makes it easier, IMO.
good luck.
