Going from Zurich airport to the main train station in downtown. Been reading here and some say the trains are complicated. Im going solo thinking of just cabbing it. Staying at the Hotel Walhalla. If its not a big cosr differene Ill cab it.

The train at the airport is directly under the airport. It is REALLY EASY. It runs about every 30 minutes, and is about 10 minutes on the train.

She's right, it's a cinch. Believe me, if I can do it by myself, anyone can. You'll see lots of pictograms above your head as you leave your gate, just follow the ones that look like a train. Or ask. It is on a lower level, and there are windows with folks happy to direct you. J. But now that I think of it, there's a good website for the Zurich flughafen with maps; you might want to do a search to make you feel better. Also, I'm sure you know that the Walhalla is really close to the station in Zurich, and if you're intimidated by the city, there's a good Tourist info office in the main hall, and they'll give you a map with your hotel marked. Have fun.

I couldn't resist checking it out; I love the Zurich flughafen. See
http://www.uniqueairport.com/maps/in...;d=index_e.asp or just type in uniqueairport.com and click on English, then highlight the list under visitors, then click news and info, and then I think Airport overview or something like that. The place is gigantic but so well organized, you'll feel right at home. J. |

According to Zurich Airport's website, a taxi ride from the airport to downtown Zurich is about 50CHF (vs about 7CHF for the train). |
