Direct Trains from York to Manchester Airport
I have found out that there are direct non-stop trains from York to Manchester Airport. These trains don't seem to run on Sunday though. Does anyone know if they do run on Sundays in the peak summer holiday period? I tried the but it doesn't go out that far. This little wrinkle will cause me to change departure airports (since I can't change days). Please help if you can.

I went to and checked the timetables for 29 October and 30 October. There are direct trains on Sunday, but not as many as on Monday. If there are direct trains on Sunday at this time of the year, that certainly should be true during the summer.

Given that the timetable says change at Huddersfield, I'd say there is some form of Engineering works on the line over the next couple of Sundays.

This is confirmed as if you put in a date of the 12th November you find direct services with other services where you change at Manchester - which is what I'd expect

I did a search using November 12th and found non-transfer "direct" trains leaving York at 11 minutes past the hour. Shouldn't be a problem.

Only a mindreader (or better) could tell you the times for trains next summer.

If major engineering work is planned, it's listed well in advance on

Thank you very much for all the help. I was using a date on which construction was planned. I appreciate the clarification, and I agree that if the train runs on Sunday now, it will certainly run on summer Sundays.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 09:18 PM.
