Direct train from Paris to Reims

I have looked at many sites and cannot find a direct train to Reims from Paris. I want to travel on Sept 1 and supposedly all of the trains should be available on June 1 but all I am finding is trains with connections. I cannot book with sncf due to trouble with credit card. Any suggestions.

You can book tickets here at the same price structure as one could when booking through the SNCF directly.

There is the 9:28 train that goes direct to Reims running now and those schedules won't change much if any when September comes on line - but the trains with one change is a simple transfer at the TGV station outside of Reims to a shuttle train that goes into town.

This is a TGV train reservations required and come with the ticket.

For schedules I always use the www.bahn.de/en site as it is so easy - can't book on it and don't give fares but for schedules it's Wunderbar. For lots on French trains check www.seat61.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com. And yes the capitaiantrain.com site Sarastro suggests works well most say but www.voyages-sncf.com can be a struggle to actually book.

There are no direct trains on September 1, according to both SNCF and Captaintrain. There is a direct Ouibus.

No direct trains on www.bahn/de either. Might be some "maintenance" going on. Friend just encountered this on a Spain route where several "other" train sites showed trains running - but not the renfre Spanish site. She investigated, and found out that maintenance was scheduled for her date, and a bus needed to be taken instead.

We actually drove to Reims from CDG last year - it isn't that far away from Paris.

There are very few direct trains - and the changing to the shuttle bus at the Reims TGV station is simple - a direct train would be nice but really it makes little difference - there will be lots of trains to Reims in September - the main TGV-Est line will not be closed for repairs I would think - you can always buy full-fare tickets in Paris for Reims- no need to book in advance really - you may save a few euros on discounted tickets but then those are for a specific train and cannot be changed and to get must be booked far in advance.

Full fare to Reims is not that much - it's about a 45 minute commute.

The fastest trains showing for September 1 now take just under 2 hours. As they are all TER rides, the price is always the same - 28.30 euros.

Forget the TER trains - who wants to spend two hours on a train when in 45 minutes the TGV connections get you there. Forget what is showing now for September - there will be hourly links Paris-Est to Reims by fast trains-schedules just are not set yet but will be very similar no doubt to what is available now - do a dummy check and be day specific not date specific - weekends have different schedules.

This isn't so rare that you would need to book it 3 montha ahead of time anyway. I suspect it may not be loaded yet and I'd wait a couple days. Some of those trains have schedules that expire on August 27th or 28th. It is 91 days out.

How much will you save by pre-booking - if pre-booking a full fare ticket you could do that once in France sans problem on that route I would think.

Put angst to rest. Chillax!
