Fly into Barcelona or Madrid. From there, connect to an Iberia or Spanair flight to Malaga. Iberia and Spanair offer incredibly cheap flights within spain if you book on their respective websites. I recently paid $120 for a Madrid-Malaga roundtrip ticket. This was cheaper than a roundtrip train ticket!

Hi,
Air Plus Comet has non stop flights from JFK to Malaga. I took them from Toronto to Malaga this past Spring. They are a Spanish charter airline. I didn't have a problem with them--the service was fine, the seats of course were tight, we were late leaving Toronto due to the late arrival of the place from Spain, but they made every effort to get us out and we actually made up a lot of time in the air. I didn't feel as if it was unsafe to fly them either.

The only suggestion I would have is do not upgrade to the "first class." It consists of 2 row of 6 seats. I don't believe they get different meals and the rest of the people sitting in the front of the plane used the bathrooms that I guess were meant for them.

Hi Mel,
we are leaving for Costa del Sol next week and I hunted and couldn't come up with a direct flight from Miami, (we are flying into Madrid, AVE to Sevilla for a few days, then car drive to malaga) We did secure a one way flight from Malaga back to Madrid for $55.00 on Expedia.

Try Air France you can do it thru CDG in PARIS I did it last year ! But I also did lay over for two days in Paris on the way back Another option might be to Try aer lingus and go thru Dublin they have $99.00 each way fares to Ireland then you could book the trip to Malaga . Another tip Try to mix the air Lines I did with Air France and Continental sometimes if you book the segments seperate . you will be amazed !
